Dato' N A Kularajah, born in 1921 and died on 17 May 1996. He is always remembered for his contribution to the development of international cooperation, especially in the fields of insurance, consumer and banking cooperation. During the beginning of the founding era of The Malaysian Cooperative Insurance Society Limited, he was one of the leaders who highlighted his leadership style in the Cooperative movement with a good reputation through a dynamic approach to make MCIS a symbol of the progress of Cooperatives throughout Asia. He was Chairman at MCIS from 1959 to 1961 In 1965, he became the President of the Malaysian Cooperative Union. He held that position until his death in 1996. He has also served in various committees on cooperative affairs and insurance both in the national and international arena in addition to holding positions of responsibility in several other cooperatives.
