Dato’ N.A. Kularajah (1921 – 17 May 1996) was a highly respected figure whose legacy continues to inspire the cooperative movement both in Malaysia and across Asia. He is fondly remembered for his significant contributions to the advancement of international cooperation, particularly in the fields of insurance, consumer affairs, and banking.
During the formative years of The Malaysian Cooperative Insurance Society Limited (MCIS), Dato’ Kularajah emerged as a visionary leader. Serving as Chairman from 1959 to 1961, he demonstrated a dynamic leadership style and earned a reputation for integrity and innovation. Under his guidance, MCIS became a symbol of progress and a model for cooperative development across the Asian region.
In 1965, he was appointed President of the Malaysian Cooperative Union, a role he held with distinction until his passing in 1996. Throughout his tenure, Dato’ Kularajah was instrumental in shaping policies and strategies that strengthened the cooperative sector both nationally and internationally.
In addition to his leadership roles, he also served on numerous committees dedicated to cooperative and insurance affairs, reflecting his unwavering commitment to the sector. His dedication and service to various cooperative organizations left a lasting impact and helped elevate Malaysia’s reputation in the global cooperative community.

In addition to our core services, we are actively involved in property leasing. We own Wisma MCIS in Petaling Jaya, where the entire building is leased out based on parcel measurements including parking management services. Apart from this property we also own a land in Sg.Choh, Rawang for further development.
Furthermore, we hold significant equity investments in the insurance sector, being the second-largest shareholder in MCIS Insurance Berhad (Life Insurance) with a 44% stake, and holding a 15% stake in The Pacific Insurance Berhad (General Insurance).
